by Kevin Sinclair

There's a calm before the storm you said
And you sat waiting for it to happen
There was fear in your eyes
Tension written all over your face
I had words to offer
Which I shared with loving kindness
But you wanted to do it your way
And so I let you go.
I love you
With an open hand
I love you
As only I can.
Though you may wander far away
I know that you'll always return
I hope that you find the happiness
That you've been searching for
I've tried to tell you
But you won't listen
So now I'm trying to show you
Happiness comes from within.
I love you
With an open hand
I love you
As only I can.
I respect you and your abilities
I accept your defects and failings
And no matter what you think
You are never a disappointment
When I let you go your own way
It's not that I don't care
I love you more than you know
I'm always willing to share.
I love you
With an open hand
I love you
As only I can.
