by Kevin Sinclair

You don't know what's around the corner
You only see straight ahead
Don't go looking over your shoulder
Whenever you get the chance
Just watch where you are going
And give your best.
When we were children playing games
We never stood on the cracks
As we wandered aimlessly down the pavement
We didn't worry about much
There were no heavy pressures
No weights on our minds.
Age has added a new dimension to life
Money worries and trying to earn a living
The pressure of responsibility rests
Firmly on our shoulders now
We make do with what we've got
And give our best.
Security, shelter and mouths to feed
These things must be provided for
We have faith and trust in our partners
The bond of love is strong
As we are still learning to live
Both striving for growth.
Fear must be faced and love freely given
And in your times of need
We stand there beside you
Sharing what we have to give
We can only go forward as
We give our best.
