by Kevin Sinclair

She was a fairy tale beauty
Or maybe just a dream
That would never come true
Silent nights spent alone
Just looking at the picture
Fantasies are running wild
The movie plot is the same
Even though faces may change
Mad passionate scenes that
Are only dreams.Moonlight walks on summer nights
Hands held and tender kisses
A bottle of sparkling white
I drink from your glass, you drink from mine
Soft, tender words and gentle embraces
Are the prelude to dawn
When birds will sing in the trees
The eyes will gradually open to
An awareness that romance
Is only a dream.School boy visions of the big time
It seems so false now
She's cynical about love while
I tread with fear as if
Broken glass litters the way
Bitterness is the trademark
Of a heart broken in two
Romance is just around the corner
But I know different, it
Is only a dream ..Held by the lonely
Who live in fantasies
To avoid the pains
Of facing reality.
