by Kevin Sinclair

Can't believe I'm on this highway
Seems there are pot holes every inch of the road
The rough ride makes my head hurt
My body is weary of carrying this load
Somewhere there has to be an end
Or at least a place where I can turn off
Need to find where there's a light shining
Instead of constant kicks, splutters and coughs.
Be true to yourself
Find your place in the world
Follow your heart
Each journey begins
By taking the first step
You've got to make a start.
Listened, looking for those kind words
Needed something to soothe a weary heart
Disconnected and feeling rejected
Together but it seems so far apart
Want to see those soft eyes
And see them sparkle in the light
Want to see that cheeky smile
That makes my heart ignite.
Hold your head high
Play the cards you're dealt
Follow your heart
Beginnings and endings
Are both the same
Unless you make a start.
It's a pain I carry everyday
Just like an unmoveable stone in my shoe
Keep on suffering in silence
Kick myself for being oh so blue
Is there a place where I can turn around
Can something be started anew
Give me your love and protection
I know I will be true.
