by Kevin Sinclair

You knew it would come
Just as surely as time passes
Another failure
Fate has you in its grasp
Or so it seems
But I have one question
That I need to ask
Why do you hurt yourself? The longest distance between two points
What is and what could have been
It doesn't change
It's what you've come to expect
You just live with the pain. You forecast it so accurately
Wasted potential and future regrets
Self-fulfilling prophecies
Have you in their tight grip
That you can't deny
But I have one question
That I need to ask
Why do you hurt yourself?I don't know why it's this way
You give up so easily
Someday you'll keep on trying
Instead of slowly fading away. The longest distance between two points
What is and what could have been
It doesn't change
It's what you've come to expect
You just live with the pain. Why do you hurt yourself?
