Leading or Following

by Kevin Sinclair

Please sing me that song
The one about right and wrong
How each person has to decide
On which road to ride
How life is made of choices
And as we progress we rejoice
We try to find our way home
Making this life our own.

Where are you now?
Do you know the way?
Are you leading or following?
Is your smile shinning today?

Please let me hear the man
The one who made a stand
Fought for the good of all
Does he hear me call
Hands reach out in hope
Need your help so I can cope
Looking for sweet comfort now
If you'd only tell me how.

What is your name now?
Can you help me see?
Want to follow- will you lead?
Take me to the land of the free.

Please let me hear your voice
Guide me so I can make the choice
I need to know how to decide
Don't want to run away and hide
Want to stand up for what is right
To be a guiding beacon of light
To have the strength to lead
To be able to satisfy your need.

Here I am now
I think I know the way
Stand and follow my lead
No price is too great to pay.
