Did It Take Long?

by Kevin Sinclair

I see you dancing around the floor
In step to the rythme of the music
And I sit and stare in awe
As you glide across the dance hall
With your graceful easy movement
You never seem to put a foot wrong
Or if you do it never shows
Did it take you long to get that good?

And when I hurt
You don't shoot me down
Like those wild horses
You ease the pain
With your loving care
As if I was your child.

I see you dancing through your life
In step to the rythme of the times
And I stand and stare in awe
As you glide through this world
With your graceful easy attitudes
You seem to accept and not expect
Can I share in what you've got
Did it take long to perfect?

And when I hurt
You don't shoot me down
Like those wild horses
You ease my pain
With your loving care
As if I was your child.
