A Long, Long Time To Wait

If there are words I can say
That won't turn you away
I will say them now
Because I have nothing left to lose
I used to pick and choose
But now there's no choice
It's either now or never
And never is a long, long time to wait.

I used to think I could do better
But the best wasn't good enough
Time has taught me to see
Doing better isn't the best
But the best is good enough for me.

You may think I'm putting you down
But don't get me wrong, I've changed
I need you now
I can see what I've been missing
You are sunshine and rain
I'm learning to grow again
I want you now or never
And never is a long, long time to wait.

I know I can do no better
As you are the best there is
Time has taught me to see
