Article – Tracking & Troubleshooting for Increased Sales

So many times, online business owners are confused about where their sales come from. They think they are helpless after a visitor arrives at their site. Nothing could be further from the truth!

In fact, as the site owner, you are extremely powerful. With just a little tracking and troubleshooting, you can dramatically improve both your site visitors' experience and your overall profits.

Tracking

Knowing where your visitors are coming from gives you a lot of ideas. While the site stats that come with most hosting packages are OK, there is a lot of room for improvements in most cases. Between hits, clicks, unique visitors, and page views who really knows just how many people end up at your site and from where?

Once you understand which ads, banners, or PPC search engine lists pull better, you are able to spend your advertising funds more effectively.

Track Your Ads

Spend a little time investigating tracking services. ProBizTrack at http://www.probiztrack.com/ (my own service) is affordable and effective. It will give you a start. Even if you choose to go with a service besides mine, use something to help you know for sure which ads are pulling and which are just wasting your money.

If you think tracking services are too expensive, you can still track results semi-effectively. Use coding at the end of your links. By placing "?code" (without the quotes) at the end of your domain name, you create a unique page. This page will be visible in your Web site stats. For example, if you are advertising in The Best Ezine, you can use the URL of http://www.mydomainname.com?best to track visits to your page.

Become Your Own Affiliate

Another idea for those who sell electronic products via ClickBank (or other services) is to sign up as your own affiliate under several "nicknames." Then you can use your various affiliate IDs in ads. NOTE: You will have to pay your affiliate program’s fee on any sales made through the affiliate links, but you’ll get some good information in exchange.

Troubleshooting

Once you have narrowed down where your visitors are coming from and which ads are pulling best, you’ll want to be sure visitors have a good buying experience when they reach your site.

You know your site. You are familiar with which pages link to what and how the shopping cart works. First-time visitors will have no clue! Don’t assume your site is a breeze to navigate. Pay attention to elements like:
• ease of navigation,
• shopping cart application, and
• location of “help” buttons & links.

Make every effort to give your shoppers a simple and quick way to buy from you.

Action Steps:

Conduct A Survey

Conduct a survey of your visitors. Find out if they were able to locate what they were looking for. Ask how their experience with your payment gateway went. Question how their contact with customer service was. One simple way to do this is to create a survey using Survey Monkey at http://www.surveymonkey.com. They offer some simple and free survey tools. Just load up your questions and post the link on your site. (To get the best results, you’ll want to offer a gift or the chance to register in a drawing to thank visitors for taking the time to participate.)

Ask

Ask a few people who have never been to your site to take it for a test drive. Make sure these folks know they should give their honest opinions. Sugarcoating problems might boost your ego, but it certainly won’t boost your sales.

By taking a little time to give due attention to how your visitors make their way to your site and what happens once they arrive, you’ll stand a much better shot at increasing your profits. While it may take a while to gather the information you need, this short-term sacrifice will reap some hefty long-term benefits.

Article – So You Want to be a "Google Advertising Professional"

If you consider yourself a Google Adwords Expert and handle your own or other Adwords accounts for clients you may want to become a "Google Advertising Professional". What? You didn't know there was such a thing? Well, there is, but it does come with certain requirements in order to be eligible.

First off you'll need to have at least one Adwords account for at least 90 days before applying. You must also have a minimum spend in that 90 day term of at least 1,000.00 for your account or those that you manage for others. Last but not least you'll need to register and pass the "Google Advertising Exam". There's no cost to sign up for the program but the test cost $50.00 and if you don't pass it the first time, it will run you 50.00 each and every time you need to retake it.

Once you sign up for the program you'll be given access to something called "My Client Center". If you already have a personal account it will be automatically upgraded. This will act as your "master account” and allows you to handle multiple accounts all from one interface with a single login. If needed you can "link" and "unlink" client accounts you’ll be managing and can also alter your personal settings.

Once accounts are linked both you and your customer will have access to their account. You can update their campaigns, manage account tasks, view billing summary history information and more. As a manager of someone's account you won't have access to their proprietary information such as credit card and other personal details.

You'll also be given access to Google's Learning Center which has free web based lessons and quizzes, many in Flash, that you can use to practice for the big exam. Once you feel you're ready you can register to take the exam.

The exam itself covers both basic and advanced topics with a little over 100 questions. You'll get 1.5 hours to complete it and must get 75% or better to pass it. If you flunk the first time you can take it again, up to 2X a month. Your "qualified title" will expire one year after the date that you pass the exam.

So what type of person or organization might benefit from certification? Search Engine Marketers, Search Engine Optimizers, Web Designers, Marketing Consultants, anyone who would like to offer Adwords Management services to their clients.

Once you pass the exam you'll be recognized as an "Adwords Professional" and given a professional logo to put on your website to advertise your new found knowledge to the public.  You'll need to read the fine print as the logo does come with some very strict guidelines as far as usage.

Article – Why Worries Come True

Imagine each thought you think as a mental photograph.

When the thought is first exposed to your brain, very little happens. But as you expose your mind to that thought again and again, the thought begins to develop and hold an image in your mind's eye just like an exposed photograph.

In fact, thoughts really ARE that powerful. Anything you focus on mentally DOES develop into a strong interconnected network of neurons. That network then holds that thought as an image. And your subconscious mind will then push you to take the actions that will bring that image into reality.

This is not theory -- it is based on the research findings of modern neuroscience.

You need to be careful about your thoughts, judgments, and viewpoints. If you focus your mind on something you DON'T want -- you actually strengthen the neural networks containing the image of that something.

That is why worrying about something actually drives you closer to that something. Worry is actually a very powerful form of negative goal setting.

The more you worry about something, the stronger the neural networks containing your worries become. And the stronger those physical networks -- the more likely your subconscious mind will drive you to take actions that actually push you toward what you’re worried about.

The Part Played by Emotion

The more emotion accompanying your worries, the stronger your neural networks will become. Emotion -- whether positive or negative -- is a neural supercharger. This includes stress -- which is driven by emotion!

You're getting the picture of the negative cycle that worry creates. The more worries, the more stress. The more stress, the less creative and clear your mind becomes. And the less creative you become, the less likely you will EVER solve the problem you’re worried about.

Plus the longer (and more passionately) you worry about something -- the faster you are driven straight into the arms of what you’re worried about.

A Proven Solution

There is one, and only one, solution to this. You must step out of the stress/worry cycle, and direct your mental focus elsewhere.

What you focus on grows. This is why it's so very important NOT to focus on your problems! You instead want to focus on creating positive solutions that create something you DO want.

Here's a plan of action:
Convert your problems to goals,
Create a detailed goal-plan,
Break your goal-plan into the smallest possible daily steps, then ...
Begin to take action -- one step at a time.

And in the meantime:

1. Refuse to worry. Remember -- worry is a very powerful form of negative goal setting.

2. Create a new mental image. Create and hold a mental image of how life will be when you reach your goal. The more emotion you pack into that positive image, and the more often you put your mental focus on it, the stronger the neural networks holding that image will become.

3. Bust your stress. Unless you manage your stress, it will continue to build "negative neural networks. Don't kid yourself about stress -- it is at the core of many serious life-threatening bodily conditions, and has a way of "pretending not to be there." Brainwave training is the fastest answer to instant stress reduction.

4. Build your self-confidence. Take some steps to build your self confidence. A huge medical study showed that low self confidence and negative thoughts cause your brain to physically shrink as much as 20%. Self confidence is not a lightweight issue -- it places unrealistic limits on your entire life!

5. Take care of your physical self. It can be easy to just take your mental and physical health for granted until something happens. Simple dehydration equal to two glasses of water, for example, has been shown to reduce your mental performance as much as 50%. Add a walk and 20-minute workout to your life, and you’ll start to produce more feel-good brain neurotransmitters.

6. Grow your mind power. Your brain truly follows the same rule as your muscles -- use it, or lose it! And today's scientific evidence is that your brain is either growing, or it's physically shrinking
