Most small business owners will explain, "To tell people about myself and my services." This sounds like the right answer, and it's the one I hear most often. But it's wrong! Build a web site focused on yourself or your products and it is doomed to fail from the start. No matter how hard you work to promote it or make it look impressive, it won't pay for itself, ever. What is the primary purpose of a web site? Keep reading to find out. There are 3 key steps in the web marketing process. Understand the purpose of each and you'll be able to bring in more new business with your web site. You need to attract prospects, convert them into qualified leads and then convert leads into clients. The problem for most people is that despite their best efforts to collect thousands of leads, they only end up with a few clients. Sound familiar? Your marketing is like New York City's water system. In upstate New York they use reservoirs to collect rain. This water is then piped down to New York City and finally when apartment dwellers turn on the tap, they've got clean drinkable water. The only problem with this system is that for every ten gallons of rain that falls into the reservoirs the city only receives eight to nine gallons of water. What happens to the missing gallon or two of water? It's lost through an antiquated leaky piping system. Is the same thing happening or worse with your marketing? Are you losing the majority of your prospects due to an antiquated marketing and follow-up system? If you are, don't despair. There is a simple solution. You can use the 3 key steps below to help you plug the leaks in your marketing system and get new business pouring in. The 3 key steps to improving your web marketing 1. Get More People to Your Site Your first objective is to get the greatest number of people to visit your site. If you use pay-per-click ads such as Google Ads, take a look at your click through rate. Are you getting at least 1.5 to 2% of the people who see these ads to visit your site? The purpose of any and all of your web advertising is to get people who might be interested in your services to visit your web site. If your ads don't prompt at least 1.5% of viewers to respond, test alternative headlines and subheads. You'll have the most success with headlines and subheads that focus on your prospects' problems and concerns. In my experience with my own sites and my clients' sites, changes in the wording of headlines and subheads makes a huge difference in response rates. You can double the number of people who click on your ads - and double the number of potential clients visiting your web site - by changing a few words in your ads. 2. Convert More Web Site Visitors to Leads Let's say a hundred people a day visit your web site. How many leads do you generate? With the right copy (headlines and text), sales offer, and page layout, you could motivate 15 to 25% of the people who visit your web site to contact you. Instead of a handful of inquiries from site visitors each week, you could have dozens. At the beginning of this article, I asked my client John what the main function of his web site is. This is it. > The primary purpose of your web site is to get the greatest number of visitors to email you or call you with their contact information. Your site may be the best looking site in the world, but if it doesn't motivate your prospects to contact you, you've lost them and won't get their business. Few people buy products and services the first time they visit a web site. Most look at dozens of options. Unless your site is as well known as aol.com or amazon.com, your prospects won't remember your site's URL ten seconds after they leave for another site. Before another prospect leaves your site and forgets your business, start using your free offer and your site layout to prompt at least 10-20% of all site visitors to contact you. 3. Convert More Qualified Leads to Clients. If you've taken the first two steps above, you'd have more people responding to your ads and more people contacting you. You’ve probably guessed; the next step is to follow up and convert the greatest number of prospects to clients. Depending on the type of business you're in, your follow up process may include a phone call, a mailing, a series of emails, or some combination of these. Whichever system you use, you want to increase the percentage of people who buy your products and services. It sounds obvious to both you and me, but this is where 80% of new business is lost. By Kevin Sinclair As an online marketer you are always looking for fresh new products to promote. One of the fastest ways to acquire new products is to purchase Big Ticket Items with Private Label Rights (PLR). PLR Big Ticket Items usually start at around $147 for a range of 5 to 10 e-products that have not been previously released on the internet. PLR Big Ticket Items provide you with a wide range of options in order for you to grow your online business, but are they really worth it? Consider the Positives: With PLR Big Ticket Items you buy an instant “business in a box” solution. This requires you to do no work on creating the product, and in addition these big ticket items typically come with a web site, professional sales pages and graphic images. You receive a number of products that you can resell immediately after setting up your payment processor. All that remains is for you to market your products. If you have an existing mailing list centered on your niche products, your financial outlay to purchase the PLR big ticket items can be viewed as an investment in which you can immediately make significant gains. Further, with PLR content you typically have the right to use and repackage the content in any way that you can – depending on the rights and restrictions that come with the package when you purchase. This provides you with a lot of flexibility when offering your product to end users. For instance, you may brand the products with your own (or affiliates) name and website. Although you cannot claim copyright to the product, by repackaging it with other PLR products you may be able to create a whole new product with a higher perceived value. Consider the Negatives: Although you purchased the products with the right to do anything with the content, you do not own the copyright. Even if you are encouraged to put your name on the product, you are unable to copyright it unless you make significant changes to the product itself, so that it becomes quite unlike the original product. Another factor that you need to consider is that a limited number of other marketers will also possess the same PLR Big Ticket Items. This amounts to a small amount of competition. There is also likely to be restrictions on the sale and use of the products. These are usually introduced to preserve the long-term value of the product in the marketplace. While this limits your marketing methods, it also stops other marketers from introducing too much competition and reducing the overall value of the product in the market place. As the PLR products are introduced into the marketplace, some marketers may purchase products with Master Resell Rights, so you will be competing with a higher number of marketers than the original “limited” number who purchased the products with Private Label Rights. Your Strategy: Now that you know the benefits and risks of purchasing PLR Big Ticket Items, let’s look at your strategy for acquiring the products. 1. Are the products in your niche? Don’t even consider purchasing the products if you think that you will be unable to resell them, or if you don’t plan to use them. 2. What level of Rights do you need in your business? Do you need to own Private Label Rights for what you want to do with the products, or can you purchase them individually from other marketers with Master Resell Rights? 3. Understand the restrictions. You may be attracted by the ability to own content that you can do anything with, but check out the things that you can’t do. For example, some common restrictions are that you are unable to resell the item on auction sites, or you must meet a certain price criteria. 4. Is the price affordable? Don’t rack up credit card debt in order to get the products. Spend wisely! 5. What is your expected rate of return on your investment? If you are spending $147 (or more) to purchase PLR Big Ticket Items, when do you expect to get that money back? How much profit do you expect to make once you’ve paid off the initial investment? 6. How do you plan to market the products? A marketing plan is essential to knowing how to make money from any product that you promote. If you are purchasing PLR Big Ticket Items then it is important to consider how to market each item prior to purchase. 7. Can you include the products in Membership Sites? 8. Do some keyword research. Are the products as popular as the owners claim them to be? 9. Will you add value to your website, your customers and your affiliates if you purchase the PLR big ticket items? 10. Can you give the products away for free? If so, consider that the market may become flooded with the same products in the next 3 months by other marketers using this approach to gain subscribers, Are PLR Big Ticket Items for Everyone? Using your strategy, you will need to determine whether purchasing the PLR Big Ticket Items will enhance your business model and make it attractive. Beware of being caught up in a buying frenzy in order to claim the ‘latest to market’ products, especially if you have no plan to market them. brain/mind researcher Scientists once thought that the brain we are born with totally determines our intelligence and mental potential. In some cases this certainly can be said to be true. And this, in turn, tends to determine what you can think. Some psychologists claim we actually ARE our memory. They do have a point -– since it is the combined content of your conscious and subconscious memories that makes you unique. But the “state” of your brain is quite a different thing indeed. The “state” of your brain refers to the actual physical characteristics of how your brain works. That is, how your brainwaves combine to create and use the “contents” of your mind. For example, if your current mental contents are focused on solving a problem, but the “state” of your brain is locked into high stress Gamma brainwaves, the probability you’ll solve that problem is very low indeed because the “state” of your brain simply does NOT support your goal!
