Many people think that in order to do business online you need to have an expensive merchant account to have the ability to take payments by credit card from your customers. Nothing could be further from the truth. Merchant accounts can be hard to get and the monthly fees can really add up.

So what's an honest Internet Entrepreneur to do?

The answer for most is Paypal.com. It's easy to set up an account, and fees are low and depend on your monthly sales (for most it will be 2.9% and .30 per transaction). You'll find most Net users trust and use PayPal for their everyday purchases, so they won't have a problem using it on your website to purchase from you.

However, relying solely on PayPal.com for your business can be risky. Should you ever lose your PayPal account or you have it "frozen," your online income will come to a screeching halt. You need a backup plan; another way to accept payments -- or you'll have to close up shop.

This is the same thing as relying on one stream of income. If you lose your job your only source of revenue dries up as well. That's why multiple streams are best to keep you in the green.

So who are some of the others? I thought you'd never ask:

1) Bidpay: http://www.BidPay.com

This service is available only for those who buy and sell at online auctions. Buyers use their credit or debit card to make their purchases from you and BidPay sends you a Western Union Money Order or the payment is directly deposited into your checking account if you live in the U.S.

2) CCNow: http://CCNow.com

A shopping cart solution that also allows you to take all major credit cards without a merchant account. They pay you your earnings twice a month and while your money is sitting on account it earns 1.5% APR.

3) DigiBuy: http://www.DigiBuy.com

For those who sell software. Puts you in control of pricing, order forms, and delivery options. Pricing varies with two service levels to choose from. Your earnings are paid to you monthly minus their 13.9% per transaction fee ($3.00 minimum). Digibuy allows you to accept payments by Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Discover or Diners Club.

4) Ikobo: http://www.IKobo.com

With merchant fees at $2.99 plus .29 per transaction, and no extra fees for international transactions. You can sell to buyers in 170 countries. Payments are deposited to your bank account or to your Ikobo Visa debit card.

5) 2CheckOut: http://www.2CheckOut.com

It will run you $49.00 to open an account, then it's .45 per sale and 5.5% of the sales amount. Includes free shopping cart and codes to add to your website. Will also work with your existing shopping cart if you just need a way to take credit card payments. Can be used for tangible or digital download products. With 2CheckOut, you can take payment from all credit cards and even check and debit card payments.

6) ClickBank: http://www.ClickBank.com

A great service which I've used for years. Good for selling digital products and comes with a built-in affiliate program. You'll have to pay a one time fee of $50.00, then it's only $1.00 plus 7.5% of each transaction. Allows you to take payments from all credit card types.

7) ShareIt: http://www.ShareIt.com

For selling software and shareware online. Your customers can pay by credit card or debit cards even checks. Receive your money by check or electronic transfer to your bank account. Fees are based per transaction with no monthly charges.

8) ProPay: http://www.ProPay.com

Accept payments by credit card via the web or even by phone. Funds are deposited into your ProPay account. You can get a ProPay MasterCard to access your funds or transfer your earnings to your bank account. They have four types of accounts to choose from: Basic, Premium, Premium Plus, Platinum, with annual pricing from $34.95 all the way up to $299.95, depending on the features and type of account you need.

9) Ibill: http://tinyurl.com/3oc88

For businesses selling services and subscriptions. Gives you the ability to accept payments by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, JCB, Online Checks, even by phone via a special 900 toll free number. Fees vary, but if you reside in the U.S. and your sales are from $0 to $9,999, the charge is 15.19% in a billing period.

10) Money Bookers: http://moneybookers.com/app/

Money Bookers offers a merchant feature that allows you to create order buttons for your website and be paid by credit card. Fees range from 2% all the way up to 8%, depending on how payments are made. No setup or monthly fees. You can accept payments from over 30 countries. Money can be transferred instantly to your bank account.

Don't wait for disaster to strike before opening another web based payment account. Like a "good scout," you want to be prepared in the event you need a backup. You never know what tomorrow will bring so get your house in order now.

Article – 3 Instant Traffic Techniques for Mini-Sites

When building websites there are two main options: large content site or small mini-sites. Large content sites are normally more "information" focused. Mini-sites, however, normally have one purpose only, to sell.

Given what search engines want, large content sites are much better for getting search engine traffic. Most of the time (unless you're excellent at optimizing), it's hard to get mini-sites to rank well for competitive keywords.

This is why most do NOT rely on search engines for traffic to their mini-sites. In all honesty, the best strategy is to combine the two types of sites by having a large content site to rank well with search engines that feeds traffic to your mini-sites.

However, not all of us have the time or know-how to easily build large sites that do well with search engines. Most of us just want to put up a small site and start making money.

Here are the 3 traffic generating techniques I use everyday for traffic to mini-sites.

#1: Forums/Discussion Boards

I have made more than $6,000 from one mini-site just by targeting it to the right forum in my signature file. All I did was leave a nice statement in my signature file; in 1 month I attracted over 5,000 targeted visitors that converted to over $6,000 for me.

The basic strategy here is that you need to find related forums and become active in them. Get yourself known, find out what those members talk about and find an affiliate product to fit their demand.

Then, make a nice, simple, yet captive site with a great headline followed by a review of the product. Test it and if it pulls well, you have a winner. If not, choose another product.

#2: Ezine Advertising

I would rate ezine advertising at the second best way to gather traffic to your mini-sites only because this technique can cost some money. Forum promotions have no cost (typically). However, ezine advertising can provide much better results.

Forum marketing requires you taking the time to make sensible responses or asking good questions. However, with ezine advertising, you just write a good promotion and let the publisher send it out.

An advantage of ezine advertising is that you know before you promote that you have a targeted audience that has already expressed an interest in your topic.

Also, the subscriber and the publisher most likely have a good relationship (considering the subscriber has not left) and so your promotion comes with credibility and may get more attention.

One of the keys to doing well with ezine advertising (for me) has been repeated ads in the same ezine. I have found that my results are best in the second of third promotion.

However, if I get no results on my first mailing, I do not repeat that ezine again.

Warning: Not all ezines are the same. Some will be major winners and others will be major flops.

#3: Directory Sites

Alright, here is the controversial technique that I use very successfully. I know, I know, some of you will think that it is "wrong" - but in the end, my job is to teach you how I get my traffic; that is exactly what I am going to do.

Directory sites are sites created by software that automatically build you a site which is 500 or more pages. These sites are just simply uploaded to a domain name. Most (if done right) tend to do well with search engines. That traffic is then forwarded to your mini-sites.

As you can see, we're holding fast to our policy of building a funnel system where we use the large sites to bring in the "no cost" search engine traffic (which is also highly targeted). However, all the "selling" takes place on our mini-sites.

Large sites = Traffic Gathering
Mini sites = Conversion Into Sales

Obviously there are many more techniques to use to attract traffic to your mini-sites such as banners, pay per click, link exchanging, etc... I just wanted to discuss the top 3 that are the easiest to implement and require the least learning curve (in my opinion).

Article – 7 Ways to Stay Spiritually Balanced

When we find spirituality, or it finds us, the experience feels surreal.  We begin to feel like we're walking on a tightrope between two different worlds.  We become ungrounded and loose touch with the physical side of life.

When our spiritual mission becomes clear, it is even truer. Learning to breathe and to walk between these two experiences until they merge can be a tough balancing act. It’s easy to choose and get lost in the new experience because it feels so good and so right.  Regular aspects in the physical world seem less important and get set aside, many times incomplete.

This tightrope doesn't have the same thinness as the rope we think of in the circus.  A spiritual path is actually on the ground and wider even though it feels like walking on air at times.  If you step to one side, you engulf yourself totally in the awe of spirituality.  The other, the physical world. And because of its alluring influence, it is easy to understand why we prefer to be there.

There are ways to merge the two experiences.  Here are seven techniques to help balance the tightrope:

1.  Maintain or start new physical activities.  Go running, play tennis, take a walk, or workout.  Allow love to pour into the tennis racket.  This is a neat experience if you haven't tried it before.  Allow the physical activity to merge with a spiritual part. Walk with a loving heart, say your favorite poem or prayer, and feel it in each step.  Do the same when making beds, running errands, standing at the copy machine, taking the kids to soccer, or washing the car. This chases the doubt away and invites high attraction vibrations in.

2.  Caring for others.  Take care of your family, yourself, pets, and others in your life. Allow them the amount of space they need to learn, falter (yes, I said falter), and grow.  Place yourself on that list, so, set time, and space aside for you as well.

3.  Keep financially stable.  It is easy to say, "Do what we love and the money will follow."  Lean too much on the spiritual side and you stop taking action and the money dries up.  This is like wishing to win the lottery without buying a ticket.  One difference with balance the two -- the right people show up at the right time.  People sometimes think that when you find spirituality, the money just finds you.  This can't be furthest from the truth.  It means that you will find it easier to attract what you need if you continue to take action.  If this is a learning and growth period, it takes massive action -- action for learning and action for the regular action.  As hard as this one is to balance and maintain, nevertheless it is feasible, millions of people do so daily.

4. Spend more time planning and setting goals.  Manifesting what we want still requires action and planning. Spirituality can nestle us so warmly and lovingly it’s easy to set the needed action aside.  The level of balance is in the amount of flexibility you allow in the action plan. Complete each action with total openness of all that is possible for what follows.  Ask and allow the universe to send easier, faster steps. And be open to see then when they arrive.  Ask, trust, and allow the universe’s infinite wisdom to send you the answers.  They are usually better than anything we usually arrive at ourselves.  The tightrope is to balance trust with flexibility and space for expanded freedom and results.

5.  Keep on giving.  Spirituality is a gift that needs to flow.  It can only continue to do so if people give.  There are many ways to give and the method you choose will be the right one.

6. Allow room for real people and relationships.  Other people ground us and connect us to the physical world.  Yet, they must still allow us to evolve.  People are another form of giving and receiving -- two necessary parts for good ground maintenance.

7. Receiving remuneration is a gift.  Accept it as if it came from the universe asking you to continue the flow. When we receive, water continues to flow into our cup and allows our mission to continue its evolution.  Asking for compensation allows both parties to continue the flow.  When we shift our perspective and see the need for flow, additional funds to appear.
