You are your own expert in your area of interest be it classical weaving or oil painting or any hobby or interest you have. This article examines how you can use your hobby or area of interest and make money from it online. What if you just enjoy something but do not have a deep grasp of your area of interest? Someone once wrote that if you spend one hour a day reading on just one subject, within a year you will become an expert on that area. The same can be applied to any area of interest you may have. The library and the internet represent a plethora of information and not knowing is not an excuse today. So therefore your area of interest in your own mind represents a means by which you can make money online. Money making becomes fun when you write about your area of interest and help others learn more about that area of interest and make yourself some money online at the same time. Below are some simple ways that people have used to make money online from their hobbies and areas of interest. 1. Ebooks The internet has opened up a new arena in the global flow of information. People go online to find out information and are willing to pay for information. Electronic books (ebooks) therefore have arisen to meet the need for knowledge online. An example of an ebook can range from a simple PDF file to the more elaborate ebooks generated by ebook generation software. Some people are making money with cooking recipes and others with traditional herbal remedies. Do you have an area of interest? Consider writing a simple ebook and then getting other people to build your website and sales letter for you. So find an area which people are interested in and you are knowledgeable about and sell ebooks on that subject online. 2. Websites Once you have ascertained your area of interest, you can in addition to writing your ebook, start building a website around your area of interest. Making money from websites is easy once you have enough content and website traffic. Find an affiliate program that is targeted to your website intended audience and you receive a commission for each sale you introduce to that company. Large affiliate networks are usually the best for this and companies like Commission Junction and Linkshare are good places to start. For example if your website deals with model planes, you could have a link to a store that sells model planes and a link to a shop that sells model plane supplies. So in other words, the more referral sales you make, the more commission you will rake in. 3. Newsletters Starting a newsletter on your favourite topic is also a good idea. A good newsletter would provide lots of tips and help to subscribers this creates lots of trust in your recommendations and would increase your chances of making a sale if you recommend some product to your list. Always recommend good products and test them yourself before sending a letter recommending it to your newsletter readers. But when you stumble across a good product that is in line with your newsletter that you like yourself, send out the ad with your affiliate link and make money from that posting. 4. Signature Lines leading to Affiliate sales If you have a particular interest, why not add a short ad to a product related to your interest in your signature line in your emails to your friends. Something like “This is a good restaurant I like” with a link would give you some commissions while allow you to share your love for a particular item with them. In conclusion, find out what you love and you can use that love to make money online. This love for any interest that you may have would give you the drive to work on it and that will pay off in the end and allow you to make money online.

Psychological pricing forms one of the key elements of demand pricing wherein the consumer demand is the main focus. The price and quality relationship that governs the central theme of the consumer market relationship is surrounded by uncertainty and gives the consumer the perception that higher the price, better the quality. The science of pricing is an art in itself. Rounding off the figures may be good for basic math but never in business. The art of setting prices for articles has been an ever challenging task in business. Keeping in mind the changing economy, heavy competition in the market and consumer affordability, the trick of pricing an article has been more on a psychological evaluation of the consumer. Pricing is usually done by keeping with industry standards. But in order to sell their products after a baseline or whole sale price has been fixed, individual business organizations have most often dealt with pricing in terms of smaller denominations such as cents and pennies. While quoting the universal example of $9.95 or 9.99 being more attractive to consumers as compared to $10, this psychology seems to hold in business world wide. The main reason for this is that people tend to see the first figure in dollars as compared to the cents. $9 is cheaper than $10, and the cents don't figure in the perception. While shopping, consumers tend to overlook small differences in cents but go by the dollar value. And funnily, the highest single odd digit is the most psychologically favored and 9 is that most fortunate figure of acceptance. However one cannot rule out the fact that the cents are totally ignored by the customer but the ignorance is at the subconscious level and is partial. Also the use of odd figures has a background in that it was used to curb theft by employees by way of forcing them to give change and enter the amount in the cash register - a practice that was originally put forth way back in 1875 by the publisher of Chicago daily news, Melville E. Stone. Another most popular way of attracting consumers has been introductory offers. Suppose a new toothpaste is released in market, it often sells better when its accompanied by a free sample, a toothbrush or even 25% extra toothpaste. And more so when the actual price is quoted and struck off, with a new pricing quoted in a different color alongside to attract the consumer. Often in these cases the consumer has this inherent feeling that he is getting more for a lesser price. Sometimes he also compares another similar priced similar product with the one available on discount to satisfy himself that he is certainly getting more for the price quoted. When an article comes to shelf with a certain price, consumers most often never question how and why it was priced. If a group of articles is priced at say in the range of $20's, the price is taken for granted and the evaluation and comparison of prices is limited to that range only even if the product may be of lower or higher value of that price. However, when the price of the same set is increased after a certain period, the consumers do not appreciate it. The tactic of increasing the price by 20% and giving a 10% discount on the same article is perceived better than just an increase in price. "Buy one take one free" is another pricing tactic to attract buyers although the offer maybe for a limited period of time. Definitely such articles sell fastest. By increasing the price of a product by a few cents, a company can earn profit as there seems to be no complaints from the consumer as the price hovers around a key threshold point and minor increase is accepted. Consumer sensitivity in pricing can be found when the consumers have no other product to compare with or when the product is exclusive and unique. Even in such cases, when the product is bundled with a few other accessories, the aspect of consumer emotion is very much aroused and they sell better. Above all, when a customer is satisfied, both the company and the customer are profited. But then the response to the concept of psychology pricing has always been mixed. As long as the customer is not cheated, the concept is of advantage to sellers.

Resources Life has a way of challenging us with the unexpected. A deal falls through at the last minute. An employee quits when we need him most. We lose our most important account without warning. No matter how hard we try to control life's circumstances, these unforeseen difficulties sneak up on us just when everything seems to be going smoothly. Your psychological default mode--that is, your typical reaction or response to life's unpleasant complications--can either contribute to or detract from your level of success. It can also directly affect your mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Often our psychological default mode is such a habit that we aren't even consciously aware of it. When we take a good look at how we typically respond to life's unexpected troubles, we discover a lot about ourselves, and open the door to the possibility of change. Just like the default mode on your computer, you can reset your own default mode if it isn't getting you the results you desire. What follows are descriptions of five common default mode patterns. Keep in mind that we may demonstrate these patterns to a greater or lesser degree. Also, one person may exhibit any combination of these tendencies. Later in this article, we will look at how you can reset your personal default mode. Five Common Default Mode Patterns 1. The Blamer Mode. Here we look to assign blame for whatever has gone wrong. Instead of seeking positive ways to resolve an unpleasant situation, we waste a lot of time and energy trying to determine who is at fault. This default mode tends to provoke defensiveness in others. 2. The Victim Mode. Here we react to our misfortune by concluding that we have been unfairly targeted by others or life itself. We may engage in self pity (Why me?) and lament about how badly we are being treated. Due to our feelings of powerlessness, we may fail to take effective action. 3. The Fighter Mode. Here we become angered by life's setbacks, and vow to do battle with whomever or whatever has caused the problem. We need to win, and see life's unexpected difficulties as a temporary loss that must be avenged in the game of life. This default mode tends to blind us to alternative perspectives which can be helpful in resolving a problem. 4. The Perfectionist Mode. Here we turn inward and attack the self. We use life's inevitable upsets as an excuse to criticize ourselves beyond measure. We view every disappointing situation as a personal failure and focus exclusively on our own mistakes or shortcomings. We may become paralyzed by our negative self-analysis. 5. The Responder Mode. Here we assess our current challenge and calmly devise a plan of action. We remain focused on finding and implementing the best solution for the situation we face. We avoid the traps of attaching blame, feeling victimized, becoming enraged, or attacking the self. Instead, we consider what went wrong, make adjustments to reduce the likelihood that the same problem will reoccur, and take responsible action to minimize losses and maximize gains. This default mode tends to engender respect and cooperation among co-workers. Resetting Your Psychological Default Mode So, how do you reset your psychological default mode, if your current way of reacting or responding to life's challenges isn't working for you? Here are seven steps you can take to change your response patterns. 1. Establish your intention to change. Write down a description of the new behavior you wish to demonstrate, and tell yourself this is your intended goal. Post your written intentions somewhere so you can read it everyday. 2. Activate your imagination. Take a few minutes every day to visualize yourself responding in the new way. Your imagination is a powerful tool for activating the changes you desire. 3. Find a role model. Is there a person who demonstrates the default mode you would most like to emulate? When faced with a difficult situation, ask yourself, "How would ________ handle this challenge?" 4. Monitor yourself. Notice your reaction patterns. Watch, but don't judge what you see in yourself. Be a neutral observer of your own behavior. 5. Heal old wounds. Sometimes our emotional reactivity is due to unresolved situations from our past. By healing and releasing the past, we can deactivate emotional triggers and free ourselves to respond differently in the present. 6. Celebrate your successes. Every time you consciously choose to behave differently, give yourself a big pat on the back. Focus on the positive changes you are making, however small, and watch them multiply. 7. Be patient. It takes a little time to change an old habit. Just know if you keep at it, you will succeed. Maintain your focus on how you want to behave, and you will eventually find it quite natural to respond in the new way when life's unexpected challenges present themselves.
