Article – 3 Overlooked Profit Opportunities on Your Site

If you're already selling anything online this article is going to show you how to add extra revenue you didn't even know you had "hiding" in your site without getting any more visitors.

* Overlooked Way #1 - An Upsell:

If you've been in marketing for any time you've probably heard of "upsells" or "bumps". Car dealers are excellent at using this technique. Once you have agreed to buy a car you then go into the finance office. This finance guy is really another place where they try to extract as much money as possible from you; dealer financing, extended warranties, rust coating, a low-jack security system, etc.  These additions will normally add as much, or more, profit to the dealer as the original sale. These are upsells or cross-sells.

Another great example is if you've ever called a late night infomercial you will be given an upsell. They will offer you a special deal on the third bottle of super grime cleaner if you buy 2 bottles. These upsells usually end up bringing more profit than the original item people intended to purchase.

Why not do the same online?

This little "magic trick" can instantly increase your profits 20-66% even without getting any additional business or website visitors. It works great because your prospect is all hot and heavy and ready to buy. They've got their credit card in their hand and they've already made the commitment. (If you read Robert Cialdini's book "Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion" you'll see commitment and consistency is a key psychological trigger.)

There are a couple ways I've successfully used upsells on my sites:

First you can use an "intermediary" page. Once prospects click on the order buttons they're taken to a new page (and not the order form). This page tells people about a special offer that is for today only and that they can get a 'deluxe' or 'gold' version of the package for X dollars more. You can make the upsell a big dollar amount or a small insignificant little 'bump'. I do this on www.Instantsalesletters.com/ and my numbers have been quite good using this technique  - as high as 68% some days. So think about my additional profit margins just by inserting this one extra page. Awesome!

Another way of doing this is by "recommending" a product. Anytime you buy something from Amazon - that's exactly what they do. Up comes a page that "Customers who bought __ also bought__" and then they have a slew of products.

Next, you can also have the upsell right on the Order page. I've even used something as simple as putting a check box on my order form on www.InstantInternetProfits.com/. It could be that simple. On this we get a 25% upsell rate. Take a look at what appears at the bottom after the customer has already filled out their info to buy the course

You have to play fair and let people get the original price and package you offered but there's no reason you shouldn't add a complimentary upsell immediately. The upsell is one of the easiest (and most profitable) techniques you can start implementing tomorrow. This is like the "would you like fries" strategy. Unless you're offering "fries" you're missing out on tons and tons of profit. You simply need to come up with a couple more compelling bonuses, packages or up-sells that people will get for the upgrade.

* Overlooked Way #2 - Thank You Pages:

After upsells, I'd say 'thank you' pages are one of the most overlooked profit hot-spots. Once again, there are several ways I've used this technique. First of all, anytime somebody buys a product from you online - they are taken to some kind of thank you page. Most people will simply put "Thank you for your order" and that's it. They leave the customer with their credit card in their hands to go off to some other website and give them money. Why not give people a special deal on the thank you page or at least give them links to your other products or other people's products that you make an affiliate commission on?

Now if it's a digital product - then they need to get their download but you can also put some recommended resources right on the download page. At the bottom of the digital download page for www.PublicDomainRiches.com/  we have a recommendation for the new Public Domain Gold Mine(tm) package.

Those aren't the only thank you pages. Many people totally forget about the 'thank you' pages that come up after someone signs up for your list. Now where you want to send them will depend on where they are in the sales process - but you can have a list of recommended resources that comes up AFTER people subscribe to your email list. Why not? If that's the last action you were expecting - you should look for ways to profit from this.

* Overlooked Way #3 - Thank You Emails/Confirmations:

Don't forget the initial email confirmation you send back to your customers. Last technique we talked about making offers on the thank you page but your 'thank you' email is one of the most read emails. In addition to the 'typical' stuff you should include like customer service information, who will bill their credit card, etc why not add a simple P.S. to the bottom of the email like I do offering additional resources (or even a special deal just for customers).

I guarantee just putting these 3 easy overlooked ways to work on your site will help squeeze out even more profits for you & without adding a single visitor. Give it a try.

Article – Researching Information To Develop Your Unique Content

We live in a sea of information. And information overload is an increasingly common complaint. Part of the complaint arises because we get hit with different headlines that point to the same content. So we waste time on things that have no added value. Bummer.

When you email your list or put up content on your site, and assuming you want to generate loyalty, it's necessary that you have content others haven't seen a dozen times elsewhere.

If this makes sense to you, here are some ideas you can use to EASILY generate fresh content with a minimal amount of time and effort.

First of all, think about a subject in which you are interested. Let's say it's horticulture. Now if you're not aware of it, let me put you in the picture. Most people do web searches from Google's home page and stop there. Not at all creative. Not at all digging for information from which to develop original content.

So let's go exploring...

1 - Google has lots of tools besides just web searches. They let you check the news. (http://news.google.com) As of this writing, there are 1,680 news items listed by Google on the word horticulture. Bet you could easily do a summary of some of these articles and create your own content. But let's not stop there.

2 - Google also has "groups." (http://groups.google.com/) These are folks who like to discuss *your* subject. So now you can go even farther. Look up horticulture in their groups. Now this information is potentially gold. Why? Because you can see what it is about horticulture that lots of folks are interested in.

Think you might be able to do a little research and come up with a free or even a for-profit report that gives them what they want?

3 - Next method: Do this search (keeping in the punctuation as written):
+horticulture +free +filetype:pdf

As of this writing, Google shows 196,000 hits for this query. What you get here are free downloads in pdf format about your subject.

Now you can't simply copy and use it as your own information. You have to create your writing in your own words. But there's no law that says you can't summarize what you find in other people's works. To make the point, you could even call your work something like: "Survey Report: Latest from the Horticulture Front!"

4 - Go to www.Alexa.com. Do a search on your subject, in this example, horticulture. It provides the exact same results as Google because it's powered by Google. So why bother, right? Wrong. Because Alexa *does* provide value added information.

When you do the search, you don't want to click the link that takes you to the listed site. Instead you want to follow the link that says "Site info." When you do this, you'll find a section called: "People who visit this page also visit." This can be very valuable because it potentially shows *what the marketplace is interested in.* This can enable you to tailor your information product to what people want.

These are just some of the easy ways to branch out your explorations and find gold to weave into golden braids.

Article – The Difference Between Good and Great

Ever notice how some people have all the luck? They seem to attract clients and business effortlessly, and win awards without even trying. Even the media seems to seek them out.

So what makes THEM the anointed ones…. and not you?

The difference is passion.

Passion is what makes us get up in the morning, excited about what we're going to do. It's what pushes us through tasks we'd rather not do - and propels us through those that are ordinarily intimidating.

Passion is something bigger, too. It's a healing essence that makes whatever we do seem guided, and so very attractive to others. Things that are passionately created are truly magnetic - we all want a piece, so we, too, can be healed.

I first became aware of this on a speaking tour I did in Florida a few years back. At the time, I spoke at a New Age bookstore/tea salon in Key West, FL called Kindred Spirit.

This wasn't a 'must do' stop on the circuit of major bookstores; when the owners invited me to speak, they didn't even have a location yet for their store. Still, there was something about Kelly and Karen, the owners, which resonated with me when I met them at a conference.

They had a certain intensity, the air of women on a mission. It was clear they would have exactly the space they wanted, and it would be great. Not only that, I would do an event with them, and that would be great. The Powers That Be were clearly whispering in their ear.

When I got to Key West, my hunch was confirmed. Every inch of this store held things that were beautiful and unique, each artfully arranged. Karen had hand-painted fresh, original calligraphy on the walls, and they had composed their space so you could wander at will, finding treasures at every turn. There was even a tiny antechamber, beautifully decorated, where you could have a reading with a remarkable psychic. Lace-covered tea tables here and there waited for you to sit down, relax, and have superb cup of tea. The effect of being in Kindred Spirit was that my travel-jagged soul was immediately soothed. This store had the ability to heal people.

That healing comes from what some call "the essence". It's an immutable standard for your work that comes from within, a refusal to deliver less than exactly what your soul told you to create. And this takes considerable work.

When I met Karen and Kelly, they were coming off of weeks of 12-hour days putting the finishing touches on their store and holding their first event. They had that slightly insane, but critically important vision you get that pushes you forward, and forward, and forward, until you do create exactly what you want. They had passion, pure and simple.

And please note that such work is not just a non-stop string of blissed out moments of creativity. There are many when you just want to go home and  climb into bed. There are just as many when you lie awake worrying. Still, there is something sacred and holy that pushes you forward, whether it be the 'essence' or your own hands-on interpretation of God or Spirit.

Not surprisingly, all of Key West turned out for my talk at Kindred Spirit; the event was electric! All, I say, because people wanted that healing at the heart of Karen and Kelly's hard work.

So how do you summon up the essence? For Karen and Kelly, it was just a matter of finding the courage to leave their jobs and follow their heart. And that's true for all of us. If you can listen to your inner voices, you'll find that back there behind the voices of doubt is  your own private cheering squad.

They want you to go for the gusto and begin your dreams; they want you to live your dreams - and they'll make it more possible than you may believe. I say anyone can summon up their passion. First they have to find the courage to begin. Then they simply have to dig in and find that gift they're blessed with, and move on to share it with others.

May you be as moved as I've been by the healing work of all creators, great, small, famous and unknown, who are driven by nothing more than their desire to deliver what they feel. And may you discover the same within yourself.
